Live for today, gone tomorrow, that's me, Ha! by brokenhero0409 Live for today, gone tomorrow, that's me, Ha! by brokenhero0409
For the MLP-ATG-Alumni "Competition" prompt this week, I decided to get a little deep artistic pretentious. The way I see it, everypony competes with time as it tries to prevent us from living each day to the fullest. It's allies are laziness, procrastination, and the assumption that 'there's always more time.' Time is the fire in which we burn. Time is a predator, stalking us through our lives. We carelessly spend our time on frivolities, casting difficult, yet important, things idly off to the side.

This is really a great piece of work, and at least deserves a comment.

I actually feel this a lot. I'm 25 years old and have done nearly nothing with my life so far -- though I'm trying hard now to change it. I feel like I've "woken up" in the last year (ironically-- or is it even ironic at this point, and not simply a plain fact?-- since about the time I got into ponies) compared to the state of having completely given up that I was in for years before, and now I'm actually doing things, moving toward the point at which I'll finally be proud of myself and begin to actually feel fulfilled. I either took time for granted like this or simply knew I was wasting it but had not the energy, willpower, happiness, help or strength to challenge that fact, and now I'm finally actually using my time in a much wiser way, more and more as each day goes on.. but I feel again and again that I need to do even MORE, even MORE, even MORE to "make up for" all the years of time I've lost. I'm still quite young, and all, but when I think about how the vast majority of people in this fandom are ~16-20 and yet almost half of them are in college also... and they're both succeeding and fully enjoying their lives through some small part BECAUSE of this same community I've been a part of for a year now...

Yeah, I feel this. I already feel like old Twilight here, and I'm still just a young man. The thing to remember is to just live each present day like you mean it, focus on doing as much and/or having as much fun every day as you possibly can, "live each day as if it's your last" per se. Don't think about yesterday and don't think about tomorrow. And here we always have kids thinking about the far future and older folk thinking about all the time they didn't use as good as they could have, when there's no point in that at all, as it's already passed and nothing can be done to change it. Yeah, I gotta stop that and think of what I can do from this point on, even if I have about ~7 years' worth of "not" that other people have... maybe the specific way my life has gone could give me some kind of advantage, such as all the time I've had to think about what I truly want, and more? We'll see.

Yeah uh, ponies. Cool picture. Etc.
